Patrick Martin's a moron
That's Isaiah's The World Today Just Nuts "Spring Break Columbia: War On Women Edition" from yesterday and be sure to check out Kat's "Kat's Korner: Bonnie's got another classic,"
Now for Paddy Martin. F**k you. He wrote this piece of garbage for WSWS -- which means this is the last time this week I am highlight that site and I may be done with it for good.
Hey, Paddy, are your nipples sore from nursing?
How many hours were you in labor?
So shut the f**k up about what a mother is and isn't. You're not qualified to speak.
I love these men who think that the whole world is waiting to hear a man tell us what women want or need or really mean.
Shut up, Patrick Martin.
I hope that's clear.
I don't need another man telling me about motherhood. They all need to shut their damn mouths.
And I hate liars. If Hilary Rosen's remarks were so damn clear, why does he have to explain them after he's already quoted them?
Hilary's remarks were clearly: They were clearly insulting.
I'm sorry Patrick Martin's too stupid to get that this isn't a media created issue. And I'm sorry that he's so dumb he thinks he's qualified to write about it and that he can pimp it through his class prism. That's probably why WSWS has so few female readers. We're damn tired of being told that our issues only matter if you can put your class spin on it.
You don't need that class spin to call out racism. But when it comes to sexism, they always need that class spin.
The remarks were outrageous and came from an Obama supporter.
Guess what, Paddy, you stupid moron, women aren't in the mood for 2008. While you sat with your mouth shut, Hillary was trashed, Sarah Palin was trashed and Cynthia McKinney was ignored. And when you can write about that, you can understand why women were outraged. It wasn't a right wing push.
Every day the GOP hopes for a controversy and feeds things into the mill.
This didn't take off because of them.
It took off because women like myself -- feminists who've worked and raised kids -- weren't about to pretend that it was okay for Hilary Rosen to turn back the clock to the days when women who were stay-at-home Moms were trashed by men and ridiculed and laughed at.
And that was the heart of Rosen's criticism and Patrick Martin's a damn idiot.
Mitt Romney says he listens to his wife. I don't doubt it. I don't doubt it because, AGAIN, he was my governor. I've seen this before. I know the Romneys as they appear to the public. I had as a governor.
He said he listened to his wife back then as well.
I didn't find it controversial.
I don't find the idea that a wife has something of value to say controversial. But I do remember that as late as 1992, the idea that Bill listened to Hillary was outrageous to the right-wing and they insisted that voting for Bill would mean a co-presidency.
That was supposed to be scary. I pushed back against the b.s. against Hillary (and I didn't like her then at all) and I will push back against the nonsense now.
Hilary Rosen wanted to play "The Big Man" and take out the 'little woman.' She was ridiculing Ann Romney and, pay attention, she was ridiculing Mitt Romney for listening to his wife.
And Patrick Martin and WSWS should be ashamed of themselves.
I went to WSWS to find something of value to highlight. I found nothing. Again, I won't be visiting again this week and sending a man out to explain to us 'little ladies' how this is actually no big deal? I may not read WSWS for a long time.
This is C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot" for Monday:
