POLITICO reports the AFL-CIO endorsed Barack Obama today. No surprise. They try to make something of this:
Underscoring the occasionally strained relationship between the Obama administration and the broader labor movement, Trumka acknowledged past difficulties and differences while praising the president's underlying values and commitment to working Americans.
That's nothing. In the veal pen that the AFL-CIO elects to live, they make a few scattered bayings at the moon and then shut their traps and be the useless non-leaders we're all growing to expect them to be.
The unions should have moved to create a political party long ago if they ever gave a damn about improving the lives of workers. The fact that there is no such political party (nationally) today indicates that they never really cared about the workers.
