Eggs. Spinach was the one that hit me the hardest. Now it's eggs. (You can eat spinach now.) Who ensures the safety of our food supply?
Obviously the answer is: No one.
And I think it's important that we pay attention to disasters like the ongoing one in Pakistan. I think it's important that we pay attention to the victims. But I also think it's past time we paid attention to our food supply. Who is working on this in Congress? Find one rep or senator who has made this their focus.
A few years back, we would have been outraged by the egg recall. Now we're getting used to it and that's what's really scary.
