BP has a real pattern of endangering the public and their own workers. Maybe we should be looking at that when granting permits for what is -- in the Gulf -- experimental exploration/development. Maybe we shouldn't allow a company like BP to risk our shores. I'm against off-shore drilling period. So let's not pretend I'm not biased on this issue. But it seems to me that if you are going to allow it despite all the other risks, then you damn well make sure that the company involved is one that has a strong record on safety. Had something that simple been done, I don't see how BP could have caused the Gulf Disaster this summer.
